When Joshua isn’t painting, he enjoys antisemitic dog whistling with his neo-Nazi friends like Shane Reeves, sharing fashy memes on Facebook, ragging on Jewish and Muslim people, pushing antivax propaganda, and contributing to racist, anti-Asian commentary regarding the deadly COVID-19 virus.
Frashuer is a member of the Proud Boys, which the Southern Poverty Law Center declared a hate group in 2018 due to their Islamophobic, misogynystic, and anti-immigrant rhetoric.
The group also has a long history of politically motivated violence. In October 2018, ten members of the group were arrested after attacking protesters outside the GOP Metropolitan Club, where founder Gavin McInnes had given a speech reenacting the murder of a Japanese socialist.
In the spring of 2019, members of the Proud Boys planned a violent rally in Providence, New Hampshire. In the private planning chats, the Proud Boys traded pictures of weapons they planned to bring and photos of specific leftist activists they planned to assault. One member planned the long-range assassination of an activist, even choosing the caliber of weapon and range at which he would shoot.

Frashuer is a 4th degree member of the Proud Boys. The 4th degree is the highest rank of the Proud Boys and involves getting arrested or getting into a physical altercation defending their bigoted views. Joshua used the photo above as his facebook profile photo in September 2019.
In June 2017, Frashuer attended a free speech rally held by the hate group in Boulder. At the rally, he was quoted by the Boulder Daily Camera, saying that the Proud Boys disavow “Nazis, neo-Nazis or anyone who is alt-right,” even though his group was joined by neo-Nazi William Scott Planer, who was wearing a t-shirt depicting an SS skull that read “Proud to be a Fascist.”
Antisemitism
Though the Proud Boys claim that they are not a racist or antisemitic group, many of their members openly engage in both racism and antisemitism, often with no pushback from the group.
Joshua posted the above image in April 2020, as a response to the COVID-19 virus. The parentheses around “they,” also called echoes, originated on the neo-Nazi forum “The Right Stuff,” where they were used to signify the echoes of Jews throughout history. They are frequently used as a neo-Nazi dog whistle.

Anti-Asian Sentiment
Josh posted the above image in early April 2020 in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. This kind of anti-Asian rhetoric and the insistence of referring to the virus as the “Chinese Virus” has led to a rise in racially fueled hate crimes toward Asian people in America.

In September 2019, members of the community protested the treatment and warehousing of undocumented people outside the home of Johnny Choate, the warden of the GEO immigration detention facility in Aurora. Frashuer and Choate are neighbors and the above image was posted in response to the demonstration.
Frashuer is seen here interacting with Kenny Lizardo. In 2018, Lizardo drove nearly five hours, across several states, to menace videographer Vic Berger after Berger produced a video mocking former Proud Boys leader Gavin McInnes.
Homophobia
Joshua is not shy about his homophobia, as seen in this posting from November 2019. This particular meme was originally posted and then shared from a Straight Pride Parade event organized by Billy Sessions and the Hiwaymen. Billy Sessions and the Hiwaymen are known neo-confederates and open racists.
Frashuer really hates queer people.
Islamophobia
In addition to his hate for queer people, for Jewish people, for Asian-Americans and specifically Chinese people, he also hates Muslims.
